Reel Features Season 4 Ticket 8
And then we come to this movie....Oh, good lord!
Coming off of the heels of the successful 2012 The Avengers, we continue Tony Stark's arc (story. not reactor) where we see our protagonist contemplating from years gone by and then looking at his present state with quite possibly the most extreme version of insomnia by developing more Iron Man suits in his garage/basement as he christens the mark 42 suit that is able to set assemble in pieces, and to say that it's hap-hazard would be an understatement.
When you take into account how durable and sturdy previous suits had been and this prototype which is supposedly an evolution of his previous designs falls apart with what can be considered a simple tap when compared being hit with a barrage of bullets and assault from a tank? It doesn't make for a good premise for this suit.
I do get the theme of the flick is that is it the suit that makes him Iron Man or is it just an extension of who he is and what he is capable of? Mind you, you can argue that Stark had been humbled enough over the last 2 movies in having shrapnel in his chest and having to develop and upgrade because the very device that was keeping him alive was also killing him.
