Wellll, the new Jurassic World (aka Jurassic Park 4) trailer aired over YT and I'm gonna be honest; I like the vibe I am getting from the trailer below.
It feels like we are getting the Jurassic Park we know and more from this.
It's the realisation of a man's dream to create an amusement park of living, breathing attractions so astounding; they will drive the imagination of the entire planet. Kudos if you get that nod. The amount of Easter eggs/throwbacks/references are pleasing. 1: the Goat in the Tyrannosaur Kingdom. 2: The T-Rex going for the Goat 3: Animals communicating (a nod to the Raptors from JP III) 4: Intelligent animal. (that could be a nod to Bob Peck's "clever Girl" line from JP 1) We get a good look into Chris Pratt's character, Owen Grady. A Velociraptor trainer or aka as a Raptor-tamer/whisperer. He's a very straight-shooter. there is no BS about him and just understands that the Raptors just do what they do and can't be controlled. There is the understanding of mutual respect between them. He is not their enemy/prey, but he is not their friend either. Also, anyone who has the guts to be able to step into a Raptor Pen and face 3 of the preds and come out alive is either amazingly brave or crazy. Hats off to him. The impression I am getting with the Indominus Rex, a mutant hybrid Dinosaur which name means "fierce and untamable King" is that this is another sign that man should not try to tamper around with nature. Fierce and untamable, huh? If that ain't a bad sign just by it's name meaning alone, then I don't know what is. Oh, and it's engineered to be bigger than the T-Rex? I think this fellow below is an example of why that is such a bad idea.

I get the whole point that amusement parks need to step their game up where applicable in order to drive good attendance numbers and revenue. That's pretty much a set precedence in most forms of entertainment and in life. If the audience likes the service you're providing in a Cinema/sports arena/Theater you keep giving said service. If numbers in attendance and cash starts to go dry, then you change the formula up to entice them back. Because doing the same thing again and again is just text-book insanity. Just look at the WWE's current method.
And judging why the Park's executives deemed it acceptable to create the I-Rex was to do just that. Although; I do have to echo Owen's sentiment in regards to repeated genetic meddling shtick 792 they're dinosaurs. isn't that wow enough?" - Owen Grady. Jurassic World
Apparently not. But that said, if Masrani Corporation didn't think JW wasn't in trouble then it wouldn't have made an animal that would make the T-Rex look like it's weaker cousin who hadn't hit the weights in 10 years.
The Vibe I get from this trailer which has given a much clearer insight compared to the teaser from Last Christmas is that it's going to be a darker Jurassic Park. That said, JP was never one of those movies that were light-hearted. That'd fall into Barney the Dinosaur territory. Although, the idea of Barney escaping the Rex paddock and then chasing the jeep and roaring into the side mirror is likely going to be the source of most nightmare fuel just by typing this, lol. The thing that got me is when I saw critically injured Apatosaurs lying out in a field in the wake of an I-Rex massacre is what told me; this ain't gonna be your daddy's Jurassic Park. Granted, there have been dino fatalities before (or Dino damage if you're young enough to remember the commercials from the 90's) but not to the extent where there are so many bodies lying in the aftermath of a predator's slaughter. If the first movie didn't send the metaphor that man is sometimes responsible for their own un-doing then this one will really hammer it home considering a man-made creation goes about killing for sport on not just it's fellow animals, but the inhabitants of those visiting the Island and those who work there. I'm hoping that this flick will help to recapture the intense, driving factor that the original projected 22 years ago that set so many standards in special and visual effects. JP 2 was enjoyable, but didn't have the same emphasis on plot and the 3rd was a guilty pleasure which was just looking to see what could be done after scenarios A & B had been done. B had been done before. King Kong, anyone? Now, I know there are some Paleontologists and critics alike that are narking on the movie for not having enough authenticity by putting more scientific accuracy into these creatures, like the Raptors covered in feathers and all that jazz. I get that; you want it to seem plausible. But the flip-side is that if they went and put that accuracy in now, then that would contradict what was done with the first movie in 1993. True, real Velociraptors were much smaller than what they were depicted as in Spielberg's first JP flick but again, by going back and retconning that information would be pointless as the audience knows what a Jurassic Park Velociraptor looks like and knows what they can expect from them and then to see supposed scientific accuracies would be a contradiction of what has already been established but also leave a sour taste in their mouths. The Sad truth is; we will never know what an actual real Velociraptor looked liked as flesh/skin and muscles are one of the few items that either never preserved well or at all in the fossil record. We can only use our imagination until such time science catches up with Movie science and recreates a real dinosaur. June 12, huh? Well then. After 22 years.....I'm going back to the Park.
