Fast Memories Part 13: 2011 This was a game that had fans waiting with anticipation when the trailer dropped on the Internet in Spring of 2011 of 2 Sonics in one game.
As someone who played through the 16-bit, Dreamcast & Modern Eras of Sonic The Hedgehog, to be able to now play through a selection of Zones from these Eras with updates on the classic perspective and fresh takes on them from a modern perspective made me feel like a kid in the candy store. I didn't know where to start. I felt Sega & SonicTeam delivered a very satisfying game to the point where you actually had to look for discrepancies as we had been either disappointed or had mixed feelings on previous Sonic games in the five years prior to this. But the only criticism I could make with this is that it could have been longer. This was just a minor constructive observation as I felt that Sega could have done more with this game and have more Zones from the 16-bit days that would have offered some more experiences with maybe Zones like Mystic Cave, Oil Ocean, Starlight, Sandopolis & Spring Yard Zone. But that said; what we did have was a great way to celebrate his 20th Anniversary. Part 14 next
