AFTER THE STORM SEASON 3 MISSION 15I think it's safe to say that more context was provided to what happened to Jeff Tracy 8 years ago in the story.
I do have to point out how less than orthodox it was for Thunderbird 2 to assist Thunderbird 4 underwater. It's one thing for TB2 to go into space, but underwater? That's just jumping the shark on that notion. I appreciate that it allowed the mighty green leviathan of the air to assist it's submarine, but at the same time this aspect of the story is loaded with so many engineering in-practicalities that I doubt this could be even pulled off in reality. Seeing Thunderbird 3 being reacquired by Kayo and Alan I didn't have any issues with as this was a fun action sequence that did leave a lot of tension in wondering how it would turn out. The ending had a very emotional pay-off with the family realising that Jeff is still alive and it wasn't an explosion from the Zero-X, but an aftershock instead. The way that the camera panned up from Earth to the starry milk-way and hearing the score go from cheerie optimism to dark and daunting was a great way to end this week's episode with the dangerous challenge awaiting International Rescue knowing that somewhere out in the depths of the Galaxy, their father, is waiting for them.
