The 14th Movie of Marvel's Cinematic Universe. It seems like only yesterday when 2008's Iron Man launched this Universe.
I did consider what kind of movie Benedict Cumberbatch could do from Marvel Studios and Doctor Strange seems like it was almost tailor-made as he brings a lot of similar witt from Sherlock but with some superhero elements.
I have to say that I love doing reviews in the Fall (Autumn) as the soothing air is actually quite pleasant afterwards. Considering how humid the summer was in the UK this year, it was a nice change of pace to not swelter whilst doing these reviews after the picture.
With this I felt like I had expanded greatly but not to the point where you felt like you would be sitting there for ages. I have noticed with previous reviews I tend to go on longer than I necessarily need to do. It's a work in progress that I'm working on.
Today was fun.

This is one of those flicks where I feel Studios have failed to recapture the quality that was set.
Oldman is a great Dracula performer as he really dived into this and made the character feel genuine and feel sympathy for despite the dark nature of what he did to cross time to find his lost love.

I have very fond memories of this flick when it originally came out at the end of the 90's and it was something that audiences had been craving for a while with this mix of comedy within action. It's not an easy formula to pull of and safe to say that Stephen Sommers did it in spades

Bringing a few of the Halloween Classic Reviews over to Reel Features and starting with a review where I go to know my filters in editing to give that 'night' feel.
Hope you enjoy it.

Decided to check this feel-good comedy and I was not wrong as this had me laughing and feeling sympathy for the principle characters with what they go through as working single Mothers trying to provide for their kids and to give them the necessary attention as well as I think most parents can relate today that this is not an easy feat to achieve.

Must be another 2 weeks gone by and another cinematic treat reviewed in the form of this year's supervillain teamup. I'm thinking this is what Sony tried to make happen with Sinister 6 which in all honesty I don't think anyone really wanted a cinematic universe with Amazing Spiderman and them. But I've been wrong before.
Just when I thought we would be done with Superhero flicks this year we get given this sequel to Batman V Superman which is a little unheard of to have a DC sequel this soon as in the past it takes roughly 3-4 years just to get a sequel.
But considering they want to play catchup with Marvel then it doesn't surprise me that this one came not too long after the first cinematic meeting of the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight.

As I state in this commentary this is not a review of the movie. I have not seen it therefore I am not reviewing.
The purpose of this video is an observation that movie-goers are greeting this reboot with. That is what I am highlighting.
Had I not seen it and then reviewed then I could understand peoples' frustrations. But this is not the case. I am commenting on the observations of people who have witnessed and influencing my decision not go to see it.
Just for context, unlike other Ghostbuster fans who are not seeing it because the Ghostbusters are female now; I am choosing not to watch it because the trailers put me off with cringeworthy jokes, lackluster CGI which does not even hold a candle to the 1984 Visual effects and the cast members seemingly having no convincing chemistry with each other.
The fact that the Ghostbusters are now women is not even an issue for me. I've never had a problem with that.
You could have an all-male or mixed gender reboot with the same story, director and visual effects and the end result would have been the same.
To me, that's the least of this flick's problems from what I've been hearing.
I look for story, pacing, cast chemistry and good performances. And again with Wreckless-eating's review which I shall leave below; there is little to none of that in this flick.
And the mere fact that this movie's toy merchandise is in the bargain bin already tells me that they have no faith in this glorified cash-grab on an old-school franchise that the fans never asked for this unnecessary reboot.
Had the 1984 original had been terrible beyond recognition then I could understand the merit to reboot the franchise. That is one of the few exceptions a franchise should have for a reset is when it failed to deliver on what it set out to do and wow the audience.
But the original is a cult and iconic classic that has stood the test of time and is enjoyable by new and established fans that are still quoting lines even to this day
"That's a big twinkee." Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore
Bottom line is this: based on from what I've heard from those that have seen it as that this thing is going to tank. And I've chosen not to go watch it as I'm listening to the reviews and trusting my gut instinct for once on this occasion.
Regularly I would not pay heed to reviews, but considering 9 out of 10 reviews I've read/seen thus far have come back confirming my suspicions that there is seemingly no love put into this flick.
This is one time I am spending my £6.50 on something else.

I'm really getting into a stride with these spoiler-free versions as there's an advantage in keeping it short and sweet but still give people a glimpse through the keyhole and letting the audience go watch the movie and find out for themselves based on the opinions I give as opposed to giving plot points.
That and this gives me extra content for my pages as then I'm giving my audience/followers/subscribers the choice of whether they want to be completely informed or give them a glimpse and then let them see for themselves when they see it.
This particularly spoiler review is a little lengthy so you may want to sit down and grab a coffee as I've noticed I'm going into more depth these days.
That in it's own right has it's good and bad merits. Good; in the sense that I don't have too many restrictions and can decompress in areas where I feel details need expansion on. Bad; because I could end up rambling on for too many minutes when a simple revision would have been more satisfying, lol.
